poorly mixed media

It is a very interesting thing to hear a discussion about the portrayal of gender roles in children's media in Los Angeles. A place that produces a very significant amount of the content that gets distributed world wide regardless of whether it is appropriate for the population that receives it. A place that is known for its objectification of women. A place where the male gaze is seemingly cultivated. In fact it is beautiful to hear a discussion of this nature take place in LA. It gives one hope that the trend of portraying young girls especially as hyper-sexualized and one dimensional will not continue long into the future.
